Advanced technology supports our mission of comfortable, convenient, high-quality dental care
As your biomimetic dentist in Bloomington Hills, Michigan, Dr. Vincent Buscemi and the entire team at Buscemi Family Dentistry have fully embraced advancements in dental science and technologies. Biomimetic dentistry is all about using those products and delivering those services that best replicate “what nature intended.” The latest, safest dental technology helps us to accomplish this mission. Advanced dental equipment, systems, and software allow us to preserve natural tissues or to replicate tissues in a way that looks, feels, and functions in a realistic manner. Additionally, the technologies listed below broadly support the most pleasant, no-hassle, stress-free, and painless experience with modern dentistry that is possible.
Digital X-rays
Accurate diagnostics are critical to effective treatment. Dr. Buscemi must accurately pinpoint the source of symptoms such as toothaches. From there, he can develop a plan that resolves the underlying condition. Digital radiography produces minimal radiation exposure and is a fast way to get many clear and detailed images of oral and maxillofacial structures. In addition to presenting a safe and precise alternative to traditional x-rays, digital radiography does not produce waste like conventional film-based approaches. So, it’s green, too!
Intra-oral Camera
“Intra” refers to “inside,” whereas “oral” refers to “mouth.” So, intraoral cameras are tiny and wand-like devices used inside the mouth to capture clear images of inner tissues and structures. Due to the nature of these tools, intraoral camera technology allows Dr. Buscemi to see even the tiniest areas where the likes of decay may lie hidden. Also, since these tools are so small, the process of getting images is very comfortable. It is a considerable step up from the days of using sticky, foul-tasting goo and gag-inducing bitewings to make impressions or models of the mouth.
CEREC Same-Day Crowns
Dental crowns have typically required at least two visits to the dental office. The first visit generally involved preparing the damaged tooth and planning the crown. The second visit generally involved removing the temporary crown that was placed to protect the prepared tooth and cementing the permanent crown to the tooth. With computer-aided design software and manufacturing equipment, at Buscemi Family Dentistry, we can design and make crowns while you wait. Any adjustments to the crown are made in just seconds. CEREC eliminates the need for a return trip or for a delicate temporary crown because we have the technology to make our crowns onsite. We also have ultimate control over the quality and fit of our crowns, as we make our crowns and don’t have to rely on an outside lab.
